DNS4EU

The DNS4EU project will provide EU citizens, businesses and institutions with a secure, privacy-compliant and powerful recursive DNS, an “Internet address book” that allows them to navigate the web using domain names instead of strings of numbers. The project will become a vital part of European web sovereignty.

In fact, DNS4EU is part of the European Union's vision to strengthen the EU's digital independence and act as an alternative to the current public DNS offered by US-based tech giants. Through it, the European Commission aims to keep user data in the Union's digital space and provide the service to as many Europeans as possible, while respecting the highest privacy standards.

The Project will last 36 months starting in January 2023 and will involve partners from 8 European countries.
