The ENSURESEC project represents a solution for protecting e-commerce transactions in the single digital market from physical threats and cyber threats. It combines an integrated, open source toolkit to protect e-commerce infrastructures, with the monitoring of the impact of threats in the physical world and a campaign for raising awareness among SMEs and citizens geared to creating that awareness and trust.

ENSURESEC univocally addresses the entire range of modern e-commerce, from standard physical products purchased online and delivered by post to fully virtual products and services provided online. Similarly, it addresses threats ranging from changes made to e-commerce applications on the internet, making them no longer available to customers, to problems arising from failed delivery or fraud committed by employees or customers. The project thus intends to focus on this objective by concentrating on software activities and on interfaces of physical sensors located along the e-commerce, payment and delivery ecosystem.

ENSURESEC also aims to improve the resilience of citizens and businesses against threats and to bolster their trust in e-commerce companies, in particular SMEs, by contributing to the vision of a reliable, digital single European market.

In this project, ABI Lab will be coordinating the activities of the Advisory Board with the participation of a number of parties and sector stakeholders, including eCommerce Europe, Consorzio NETCOMM, MasterCard, Bird and Bird, Amazon, Google, MIT. Thanks to the activities conducted by CERTFin in defining a Cyber Threat Intelligence Methodology, ABI Lab will coordinate the task relating to the definition of a method that may, in this way, also be applied in the sector of payments security in the eCommerce value chain.
